Plymouth Pride Festival 2020 will take place at Plymouth Jigsaw Garden on Saturday 8th August. Pride in Plymouth is more than a single event our team of volunteers work through the year on award winning events and projects that Bring People Together strengthening our voice and ultimately improving the services and social scene for all LGBTQ+ people who live, visit, work or study in Plymouth. This includes supporting LGBTQ+ asylum seekers and refugees housed in Plymouth, working with other groups and organisations in the city that support us in building a healthy and cohesive community. The year 2020 marks the 400th anniversary of the historic voyage of the Mayflower ship from the UK to the New World of America. It is also the 50th anniversary of the first Gay Rights Marches held in New York and London in 1970. Parade The Parade departs from the Jigsaw Garden (Nr. Drake Circus) at 11am with pre parade activities starting at 10 am. The Parade will make its way through the City Centre to the iconic Plymouth Hoe for the main festival with live music, fun fair, childrens rides, selection of food, licensed bar and lots of fun activities for people of all ages.
