For Queen and Country tells the incredible true story of Major Denis Rake MC. A musical theatre and cabaret performer, Denis was recruited into Churchills Secret Operations Executive during World War Two as a spy and wireless operator. Dropped into occupied France, Denis was told to take on another identity so became a drag queen, entertaining Nazi Officers. Denis experiences first came to light on the BBC2 programme Secret Agent Selection: WW2, Programme contributor and writer Paul Stone brings to life Denis story and showcases the contribution of the LGBT+ community to the war effort along with the heroism of women like Nancy Rake and Virginia Hall, two of the Nazis most wanted spies.
