Join us as we welcome Elaine Chambers to mark the publication of her memoir This Queer Angel which is the incredible true story of one woman's campaign for equality in the armed forces. Following the partial decriminalisation of consensual sex between men in 1967, the army was one of the few remaining institutions in which homosexual behaviour was still illegal. Elaine Chambers was investigated for unnatural conduct and after a five-month investigation was expelled from the army. Rather than accepting this she co-founded Rank Outsiders - a campaign and support group and prepared to fight the MoD.
