The New York Times Judy Rosenblatt ably portrays Guggenheim, capturing her twisted charm and pathos. Married to Max Ernst, lover of Samuel Beckett, champion of Jackson Pollock and Pablo Picasso, Peggys love life was as colourful as her art collection. She moved to Venice in the late 1940s and quickly became one of its most glamorous, scandalous residents. Lanie Robertsons play brings Peggys remarkable story to life. Peggys passionate loyalties and prejudices changed the face of twentieth century artbut at what cost? Austin Pendleton is one of New Yorks most acclaimed directors. He won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama for his recent productions of Between Riverside and Crazy at The Atlantic Theatre. He directed the UK premiere of Detroit for the National Theatre. Judy Rosenblatt is a stalwart of New Yorks off-Broadway new writing scene and appeared in The Cobbler alongside Adam Sandler, Dustin Hoffman, Steve Buschemi and Ellen Barkin.
