Velvet-Club Connecting Lesbians & Bi-women around the World
Over 100 portraits (and counting) of LGBT people with the attributes of their everyday life, and a photograph of themselves as a child. Photographer Tom Dingley's Outcome project captures people from the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT+) community as they are now - as out adults. With each person holding their own childhood photograph whilst also containing a reference to their current daily lives. Outcome celebrates the diverse and varied roles LGBT+ people can and do fulfil. The portraits demonstrate there are LGBT+ people represented in all aspects of everyday life, challenging stereotypes as to what LGBT+ people look like - becasue there is no absolute definition. Our launch event features readings from lesbian poets Joy Howard and Kate Foley, and music from Sheffields own Out Aloud choir.
