Last year saw another amazing and ever growing Pride Parade make its way down Blackpools famous Promenade. From belly dancers to classic cars, vibrant groups and individuals, it was a spectacular sight to see with thousands of spectators lining the route. The great news is this that years Parade, sponsored by Blackpool BID, has been extended to include much more of the famous Golden Mile. Regardless of sexual orientation, we invite everyone to take part and show that they believe in LGB&T equality and diversity in Blackpool. We want to give Blackpool a spectacular, rainbow display so the bigger and brighter the better. Entering couldnt be easier and its completely free. You can take part in either a walking group of any size, or ride along the Promenade in a vehicle, from a mobility scooter to a full size flat bed lorry! The Parade starts at 11.00 am at The Sandcastle Waterpark (next to South Pier) making its way along the Promenade towards North Pier. The Parade will then turn right into Church Street through the town centre, heading towards St. Johns Square in front of the Winter Gardens. This is where the Parade will end and the opening ceremony for Blackpool Pride Festival will take place before the events begin inside the Winter Gardens. Everyone can join in and the route is disabled friendly, keeping to the roads with many volunteers on hand to help. Alternatively we suggest that those who find walking difficult join us on Church Street as we leave the Promenade.
