HIV has now been with us for over 30 years, and while medications have advanced, fears and prejudices still remain, and the numbers of gay men diagnosed HIV positive continue to rise every year. Jaime Syllas 2007 documentary, No Magic Bullet, explores some of the factors behind the continuously high number of HIV infections among gay men living in London; while a new film by the charity Positively UK features people living with HIV and attempts to tackle some of the misconceptions and present the reality of HIV in the 21st Century. Both films will be presented in this screening alongside a panel discussion with the film makers and HIV activists looking at how HIV is viewed in society, what has and hasnt changed over the years and where we go next.
