My Unique Story is a series of talks by remarkable women that give either a firsthand account, or an insight into an experience or personal journey. Each conveys a special message that demonstrates how the speaker(s) journey has helped her overcome adversity, developed skills, identify opportunities, inspired success or forced a life changing decision! 5.00pm - Arrival - Conference Room, The Lesbian & Gay Foundation, Manchester 5.30pm - 7.45pm: My Unique Story... is told, followed by Q&A session This evening 'My Unique Story' will give an unprecedented opportunity, as part of the Manchester Pride Fringe events, to gain an insight and ask questions about the professional careers and personal experiences of women who have been, or are currently 'Out' in the Armed Forces. The panel will discuss matters surrounding their identity prior to being allowed to serve openly and since the introduction of the general Code of Sexual Conduct for Her Majesties Armed Forces in January 2000. The Ministry of Defence, Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force are all members of Stonewall's Diversity Champions Programme and regularly feature in the Workplace Equality Index Top 100.
