Speak Up and Speak Out

To mark the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia (IDAHO-T), ARTICLE 19 hosts an evening of discussion about the freedom of expression of sexual orientation and gender identity. Freedom of expression is a fundamental right. However, many people are silenced because of their sexual orientation or gender identity, or for speaking out on issues affecting lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people. The evening will bring together activists, policy experts and LGBT people for a lively and international discussion about the challenges LGBT people face in exercising their right to freedom of expression worldwide.
